Red Hen supply the school meals and parents are able to pre-book hot meals or a packed lunch. Alternatively, a parent can send a healthy packed lunch into school with their child. Meals must be booked by Wednesday each week for the following week, or parents can book and pay in blocks. The meals are served by our lunch time staff in the main hall. We ask each child comes to school with a named water bottle for consumption throughout the school day.
Free School Meals
All Reception to Year Two children are entitled to a free school lunch.
Some children may be entitled to free lunches supplied by the Local Authority. Children of parents in receipt of Supplementary Benefit or Family Income Supplement may qualify and an application form is available from Worcestershire County Council. If you think you are eligible for free school meals or would like further information then please feel free to speak to our School Business Manager.

Hot School Lunches
Red Hen Cookery provide our hot school lunches. If you would like to register your child you can do so by visiting the Red Hen website at https://schoolmeals.redhencookery.co.uk/ and clicking on the Login/Register button.

A point to be aware of is that Red Hen are a small, family run business, and with this in mind meals do need to be ordered 5 days ahead of delivery (eg – order on a Wednesday for the following Monday), but once online you are able to order meals for the full half term.
Please note that when you place an order you will receive an email confirmation. If you do not receive an email confirmation then you have not completed the order!!

Note on making changes to meals. Whilst you are able to cancel a meal with 48 hours notice any changes need to be made 5 days ahead of serving. If making changes you will need to CANCEL the entire order (even if you are only changing the dessert). The original order will be refunded and you can then place a new order in the usual manner.
How to CHANGE a meal selection:
Please bear in mind that, whilst you are able to CANCEL a meal up to 48hrs before the day, you will still need to place the amended order a full 5 days before.
To change an order you need to click on MY ORDERS, then VIEW to the right of the latest order. Then you need to scroll to the date which you wish to amend and click CANCEL ITEM.
You must do this even if you are only wanting to change the main OR the dessert. The whole order for the day must be cancelled. This will be refunded and you will need to place a new order, which will need paying for in the usual manner.

Milk
Milk is available at morning playtime for those who wish to benefit from a special EU subsidy. All children under the age of 5 receive free milk. The school uses Cool Milk to supply milk, and you will need to register and order via: www.coolmilk.com
Snacks
All children are encouraged to bring a healthy snack which they can eat at break time (not chocolate or crisps). Free fruit is provided for children from Reception – Year Two.
