If you live in Worcestershire, and your child was born between 1st September 2022 and 31st August 2023:

You need to have applied for a school place by 15th January 2027.  Applications open in September 2026. For more information click the link above. Parents will be advised of the offer for a school place on 16 April 2027.

If you want to apply for a primary school place for a year group other than Reception you need to apply via the Citizen Portal. Please click here to access Worcester County Council’s Citizen Portal.  This is also where you will need to make applications for an in-year application for a Reception place if you are applying outside of the January deadline.  When applying for in-year transfers you will need to have completed an Education History form.  This needs input from your child’s current or most recent school.  This MUST be attached before your application can be reviewed and a copy can be found on the local authority website as above, or there is a copy available here: Education History Form WCF.

If your child has an Education Health Care Plan you will need to contact: sen@worcschildrenfirst.org.uk.

Please also note that you cannot apply more than 6 weeks in advance of the date you would like your child to start at a new school.

Apply for a school place

The closing date for Reception place applications is 15th January 2027.

Applications for our school should be made online at Worcestershire School Admissions.

School offer notifications will be sent by the Local Authority mid April, and will inform parents/carers of the outcome of their application and which school their child has been placed at.

In-Year Transfers

If transferring schools, applications should be sent to School Admissions at the Local Authority. The application form for an in-year transfer to a Worcestershire school (Education History Form WCF) is to be completed by your child’s current school and you then send this via email to: schooladmissions@worcschildrenfirst.org.uk.

To visit our school for an in-year transfer, please contact the school office on 01905 354844 or by email: office@whittington.worcs.sch.uk and we will arrange for our Headteacher to meet with you and show you around our school.
